• Sending volunteer teams of cardiac surgeons to Belarus and the Ukraine to save the lives of children born with the heart defect, “Chernobyl Heart”
• Providing much-needed medical care to the children in Vesnova Children’s Mental Asylum and other institutions
• Providing expert medical care training for nursing, care assistants and therapeutic care staff as part of the development of the Medical Care Programme
• Providing loving homes for previously institutionalised children through the “Homes of Hope” initiative

• Building new day-care centres in the most impoverished areas of Belarus
• Refurbishing and repairing orphanages and institutions to improve the comforts of the children living there
• Bringing sick or terminally ill children to Ireland for much-needed rest and recuperation
