Individual

Can one person make a difference when faced with a tragedy of this magnitude?

Yes, they can. You can.

Our volunteers get to see their efforts turn directly into medical support, food and shelter for the children of Chernobyl. They have the satisfaction of knowing that the funds they raise go directly towards helping a ravaged community protect their most vulnerable young members. Some of our volunteers make the long journey to Belarus and build homes with their own hands. Others use their medical expertise to provide care for sick children. When these volunteers return home, they have not only changed the children’s lives for the better, they have changed and enriched their own lives in ways they could never have envisioned.

We invite you to make a contribution to our most critical programmes:

Medical Programme: Use your medical expertise to provide much-needed care to the children of Belarus. This programme sends health-care professionals abroad to deliver life-saving medical care, therapies, mental health treatment, dental and hospice care. People with no medical training can also participate as care assistants to accompany monthly medical teams to Belarus or provide care to sick children attending in-country.

Rest and Recuperation Programme: Open your home and your heart to give a child a recuperative holiday in Ireland. This programme pairs a child in need with a loving host family. The experience gives children a chance to recover from the effects of radiation, reducing their contamination levels by 30 to 50 percent and adding an estimated two years to their lives. You can give a child the adventure of a lifetime and a chance to recover their health.

Building and Construction Programme: Use your construction skills to build homes and care facilities for the children of Belarus. This programme sends builders, carpenters, electricians and other construction tradespeople to Belarus to build, refurbish and renovate orphanages, mental asylums, independent living facilities, community day-care centres and foster homes. You can help rebuild a shattered community and put a roof over a child’s head.

Can you contribute your time and energy to any of these worthwhile initiatives? Please call us today at +353 21 4312999 or fill out our enquiry form
